Hi all,
I have been asked to implement an automation solution using Microsoft Project 2002/2003. It's your typical master/sub project scenario, using a couple of custom fields. No big deal.
The automation, however, is stumping me. When a user changes a certain custom field on a task within the master project file, then the source project's corresponding field should be updated. For example, if the user changes the Text1 field within the master project file, then the Text1 field in the project summary task of the source project (and the tasks within the source project) should change accordingly (why it doesn't do that automatically is beyond me, maybe I'm missing something here).
If the user changes a custom field within a source project, then the information should populate back up to the corresponding field of the task within the master project. Again, if the user changes the Text1 field within the project summary task of the source project, then the next time the master project calculates, it should reflect the new value of Text1 in the task representing the subproject.
If you have any thoughts, please let me know. Thanks in advance!
