Project 98 demo version error

I am using a school demo version of Project 98. It was scheduled to be used for 120 days. But within a week of starting the usage the cell screens all went black and pound signs (######) cover most of the inputs. It is still functional but it becomes hard to manuver.

Deleting and re-installing does not help. Wondering if some sort of key has been tripped in the registry. Any help would be appreciated.
