Project 4.0 - splitting tasks 1

In the Gantt chart, how do I split a single task to show a 'break', i.e. where the task is not a continuous block but    has a pause in the duration ?
Any help would be very much appreciated

select the task and use the split task icon (blue block next to the complete and broken chain links)

this is in the help - search for split - topic interrupt work on a task

Thanks, just want to add that I tried this on a summarized task, of course it didn't work until I tried it on a detail task.
