How can I get better control of footer placement and legend placement within my printed Gantt Schedule. I'm not sure how this happens, but occasionally I'll end up with my footer being up too high and printing within my scheduled items and overlapping my legend. I've looked and looked and played with margins under page setup, but nothing ever seems to fix this. In the past, I've finally given up and changed from having a footer to having a header. However we've set a company standard to use the footer and I'd really like to comply with our standard placement.

You say it happens occasionally -- but without telling us the exact set of circumstances (the size, the contents, the fonts, the default printer, any graphics, ...), it's clearly going to be impossible for any of us to even have the slightest hope of trying to come up with an answer that is specific to your "occasional" problem.

Legend: you use a legend? Put it on a legend page or don't print it at all (it's just a waste of paper).

I can't figure out the exact set of circumstances, because we insert the same information in the footer for various schedules and some times I have problems and some times not. Doesn't made any sense to me--just a frustrating item and I thought maybe someone else had similar problems and figured out how to get around it.

I still say: check font sizes in the project rows (some rows -- heck, some fields -- may even have different sizes and/or different fonts), check the default printer (even the same printer type can have different settings on different printers), check the page setup for scaling, margins. In short: I doubt this issue is with the footer but, rather, with the task and/or resource and/or assignment rows above it.
