Hi,

I have recently got a new machine here at work, and am trying to run an ActiveX control. I know that this ActiveX control is ok as it worked on my previous machine. This new machine is running XP (IE 6 SP1 etc)where as the old machine was Win2K.

When i try to run the page i get the "Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX controls on this page." I have looked at my settings and have changed all of the activeX settings to enable or prompt. still get the same response.

I have looked at the settings on a colegues machine, who is also running XP and on whoose machine it works on and i still get the problem.

These are my settings:

Download signed ActiveX controls - Enable
Download unsigned ActiveX controls - Prompt
Initialize and script... - Prompt
Run ActiveX controls - Enable
Script ActiveX controls marked safe - Enable

I have lowed my security levels to low for both the internet zone and the intranet zone and it still won't load.

I have also tried re-registering the following dll's that i saw on a KB article on the MS website:

regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 sccbase.dll
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll

but still nothing

any ideas, as this is really beginning to bug me

TIA

Tony
