the ProgressBar in the standard api (vs2002) harks back to windows9x. it has horrible, big, blue, flat rectangles to fill it; not like the nicely-domed, possibly green ones i've seen more recently. where can i get a progress bar that looks up to date? does the vs2003 api hae the new look bar?

It probably makes use of the common controls installed on whatever computer the program is running on -- Win2k gets the flat style, WinXP gets the groovy new style.

But I don't have XP, so I can't verify this for sure.

In either case, you might want to look on this as an opportunity to learn how to write custom controls!

i'm using widows xp, it doesn't get the groovey style. i know how to write custom controls, but am too busy right now to tit about with such stuff. i sould think i'm gonna end up asking my boss to fork out some cash and buy some pretty 'office xp styleee' widgets.

i came across a company called 'codejock software' which seems to have a suite for my needs. if anybody knows of anywhere else i might look, tell me here.
