I must choose between two ERP systems. They are very similar; the major difference is the database they use - one is Progress, the other is Informix. Which one would you choose? Is one of these DBMS faster, more flexible or reliable than the other? Are both well prepared to support web applications? Which one is more popular in the U.S.?

Additional information: we are a one-site South American company, about 500 employees, some 80 network users, some 10 remote network users, but these numbers may increase 100% in 3-4 years.

Thank you in advance for your help.

I've used older versions of both so my comments may not mean much. I prefered Informix, fewer problems than with Progress but I suspect that the newer versions of both have overcome the problems I encountered in the past.

One thing to note about Informix, they are now owned by IBM.
