Progress 10.l.b & CR XI - server rejects connection on attach

When trying to open the most recent report forwarded to me from a client, I am recieving the following message. I am using CR XI. The database is Progress 10.1.b

[DataDirect]{ODBC OpenEdge Progress Wire Protocol driverOpenEdge [OPENEDGE]Server rejects connection on attach.

This error does not appear in the Crystal Report error list and the syntax leads me to think it is generated by Progress.

Any help would be appreciated
