I have a questions about programs that load automatically when Windows starts up.
I really hate those things. Where can I remove those startup commands? I use Windows 98.

hi

you can do two things..

1. goto start, programs, startup. - then delete any programs that appear on the menu - thaea are things like office toolbar, icq, email programs and so on.

2. goto Run and type 'msconfig' and goto the startup tab. you cna delete things from this menu (requires restart) be careful not to delete anything you will need to reboot!!!

(thanks to butchrecon for the msconfig tip - a fellow tek-tips poster)

let me know how you get on.

If you use MSCONFIG or regedit dont get rid of:
system tray
scanreg
Any Antivirus programs
loadpowerprofile (If you have power options set)
