Hello

We use XP Pro OS as our client operating system. We have two different type of users ie Admin and Education. For the education we have I8 departments and each have their own software under their all programs folder.I have built an image with the education PC and kept on the server. If i have to image an admin PC,i image the admin PC with the education image and the admin users never use any of these programs of the which is part of the education image.

Now my question is it better have a seperate image for the admin.Does this programs unnecessaraly take the load on the processor/memory for the programs which are not used by the admin users.Any sugessions will be greately appreciated.
Thankyou

Rule of thumb: a program that is not running, usually does not take up any resources or memory... exception being that they waste space on the HDD...

with the above and your information given, I would do a sleek install of XP, then image that for the admin users, that way you only have the work load once instead of tweaking and deleting excess baggage from the other image...

I there any way to find which are the unnecessary programs are running under the admin login.

Many Thanks

Basically, what I was trying to say was, that the apps the Education-User is using that the Admin-User does not, are, in my eyes, unnecessary and take up HDD space...

Besides that only you and the Admin Users know what is installed on those machines, that could be deemed unnecessary, and only you and your company would know what apps are needed by the admin accounts...
