Programmning names into the LCD display? 1

I have been unable to find instructions for how to change the name on the LCD display of a few of our Starplus phones. The manuals only tell you how to change the date/time, but there is no reference whatsoever to changing programmed names. It appears that the current names where programmed when the phones were installed many years ago and have not been changed. Is anyone familiar with how to change this?

If it is the STS the code is 690

they are entered as 21=a 22=b 23=c etc.......

How do I access the menu to input the code?

You just goto a phone and Dial 690 and it sets the name for that particular phone

Name In Display
Every extension (Key or SLT) has the capability to program your
name so that people using display telephones will see your name
instead of your station number.
To create your name:
1. Dial [690] on the dial pad.

2. Use dial pad keys to enter your name (up to 7 characters).

A = 21 B = 22 C = 23
D = 31 E = 32 F = 33
G = 41 H = 42 I = 43
J = 51 K = 52 L = 53
M = 61 N = 62 0 = 63
P = 71 R = 72 S = 73 Q = 74

i am also having this same issue!
we have a starplus dhs and can not figure out how to change the LCD display to update user names on each extension?
please help if you can!

For DHS:
You can change them by going into system programming, then:
Resource Configuration/ User names

once inside the admin programming, i need to find the "resourge config"?

you are dealing with a new user of this phone system, so you may have to talk down to me a bit?

You navigate the programming by pressing the appropriate keys under the LCD display when they are labeled next, save, change, etc… (so you have to use an LCD phone with keys under the display)

However, since you are unfamiliar with the basics of the programming process I would recommend that you call a qualified vendor. If you get in there and change the wrong thing accidentally, you could cause havoc to your systems configuration.
