Customer has an ACS R7 and wants to program a Speed Dial for their cordless phone so they don't have to enter the number. I programmed it so that it successfully dials out on any of the office Partner 18D/34D sets, and I understand that on the cordless you have to hit "#" and then the 3-digit speed dial number instead of "FEATURE", but all we get is "your call can't be completed as dialed". What am I doing wrong? For example:

-Programmed 685 as the speed dial with 1-888-888-8888 as the number
-When hitting FEATURE 685 from any of the office phones, the number dials successfully
-When entering in the actual number from the cordless, number dials successfully
-When entering #685 from the cordless, message "your number can't be completed as dialed" is returned

There are no line restrictions on this extension, you don't need to dial a 9 to get out, and there are no other restrictions that I can find. What would be the problem?

To use the speed dials (or any # feature codes) you have to be on an internal dial tone like what you get when you press an intercom key on the digital sets. The best option is to set the automatic line selection for the analog extension to start with an intercom dial tone. Dial 9 for an outside line would then be needed if you want to manually dial an external number.

Or you can do a hook switch flash to get to the internal dial tone, but doing it that way basically puts the original outside line on hold, tying up 2 lines.

To change ALS at ext 10 dial feature 00
Left IC twice right IC once
Enter the ext number
press **it will return the Auto Line Select in the display
Press the left IC and any other lines you have in the order you want them to be used
Press ** when done and F00 to exit

A genius doesn't solve problems, he prevents them~~!!~~
