Just had a Mitel sx200 installed. I am used to programming phones for our Nortel 51c where everything is done in certain LDs and can go to individual phones and program them individually in Load 10.

It looks like the Mitel uses Forms. (by the way our installer is pretty new at this also. So I am looking over the shoulder learning as he learns.) It looks like some of the features I want to use may be a system feature and not a ext. by ext. feature like I am use to. I hope not.

Heres my list of what I am trying to do:

1. Ext with voicemail forwards to voicemail after 3 rings. I want an ext without voicemail to forward to another ext (call forward no answer). Right now it just rings until caller hangs up. So how do I program a phone for call forward no answer?

2. On our Nortel we can hit #51..ext number to call forward calls to another ext while we are in another office. We simply hit #52 to cancel when we are back at our office. Can I do this with the Mitel?

3. The auto attendant picks up on incoming calls. It picks up the call on the second ring. I want it to pick up the call on the first ring. Is there a timer setting somewhere for the auto attendant for incoming calls?

4. Our access code for speed dial is *51. I have a phone in the switch room that I can program speed dial numbers into. All other exts fast busy after hitting *51. Where do I program these exts to allow speed dial? I would like all exts to have speed dial.

Form 9 is driving me crazy. I am used to LD 10 on the Nortel and returning through the prompts and entering in what I want that ext to do. I just dont have the hang of form 9. I cant find anywhere to program an ext for certain features.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

I really think you need to get a tech handbook. We don't mind helping out withproblems but we can't run an entire programming course here.

Is your installer employed by a Mitel dealer? If so you should be able to get all of the support information you need for basic programming.

I feel your frustration but a lot of what you ask is site specific. The Mitel system can be programmed differently at each site to perform the tasks you want.

Feature access codes (form 2) give you codes for forwarding, Speed call, and numerous other features.

COS Options (form 3) gives you access to features and functionality.

Form 9 - couldn't be simpler. Just copy the COR, COS and tenant of any phone you want to duplicate the functionality for.

The auto attendant not picking up until the second ring is probably due to a configuration error. I assume you have copper trunks and the system is configured for receiving calling line ID. The system burns 1 ring cycle waiting for Calling line ID and if it is not provided it will pickup on the second ring.

If you are using the Web Interface there is a comprehensive searchable help file.

Good luck
