i am a nortel engineer and have little partner experiance

i have a customer with a partner system who is saying when customers call in it rings half a ring then goes to the AA

sounds like night service... does anyone know how to turn this off?

also does anyone have a cheat sheet for programming the AA?

thanks in advance

Well, if they want the AA to answer calls, then you need to remove line ringing from the phones. That sounds like what is happening. If the AA is set to pick-up immediate, but lines are also programmed to ring for inbound, then you'll hear that half ring before the attendant grabs it. Feature 00, Left Intercom twice, right intercom once, enter first extension to take ring off, press each line until they are a fast flutter (no ring).

i believe they want it to ring 4 times then the AA pick it up

Oh, then you need to change vms hunt delay. It's #506. Feature 00, Left Intercom twice, #506, then 1 for day or 2 for night, then enter the line number 01 for 1, 02 for 2, etc, then enter the number of rings before pickup.

If it's an older Partner, once you get to #506, your only options are 1=immediate or 2=delayed. You'll choose 2 for delayed (4 rings).

Avaya also has posted documentation for most AT&T/Lucent/Avaya systems on its website.
