Mics 6.1 system. 10 lines

I thought it was feature 64...do that and put in access code as asked and then I get the intercom lighting up and the handsfree and line 001 dialtone appears

What am I doing wrong?

Want to program 1st 2 buttons as line pool access

Ftr*3, touch the button, Ftr64 (x): x being the line pool code for the line pool you want.

Feature *3 on a M7208 gives access denied.

Using a M7310 to do the programming I found it under T&S--user preference--button programming

Found that it only allows one button to be programmed for Line pool access

Are you sure the telephone has access to both Line Pools?

There's only 1 line pool...but are you saying if i made two, I might be able to get two buttons up?????

To tell you the truth, I can't ever remember doing it. Why not try it, and let us know.

I always have to ask this question when I see people assigning a button for pool access. can't your people just grab intercom dial tone and dial 9? you don't lose the use of a button or two on an 8 button set. beyond that do you get the cdorrect line number when you dial i/c 9? (Make sure it works simple before fancying it up.)

I agree with jerry, but some people are used to hitting a line button, and won't be retrained.

One note- Pool buttons are for outbound calls only. Assigning two is redundant. If you want to monitor line usage, you'll have to assign specific lines to appear on the set.

Jerry i tried to tell them just that.

You're right

Then why do you need 2 pool buttons?

You cannot program 2 line pool keys on a set for the same pool but you can program a pool key for each pool on a set.

And for 7208 sounds like there is a set lock or you are in programming, user cannot program buttons when in admin/config.

you could also set up the prime line to be the pool then they don't have to press anything to get an outside line

oh but they still need to dial those ten digits (LOL)

i got customers that had me program a button to grab a line and dial 613 for then because they couldn't get use to dialing the area code when 10 digit dial came to pass in this area

like i always say the trouble is between the seat and the keyboard
coded as ID 10 T

your what hurts?????

I like the suggestion to try dialing 9 from intercom first to see if access is there.......another thought is that the set has line 1 or 2 assigned to button in question. If that is the case you cannot program using Feat * 3...you must remove that line access first....then use F*3...etc.

Programmed the button in T&S. In took okay shows on the screen as "Line Pool...

Went to the set and access denied in admin

Line Pool A does not have a codeprogrammed in System Programming(none), although Pool B does...Pool B is used for sub-tenat on the same system

That DN, does not have access to whatever Pool, you programmed on that buttton.

YES IT DOES! It is programmed in line access to Pool A...use to be programmed to Pool B and they wanted it changed

Question...

Pool A: Digit?
Pool B: Digit?

When do you get the error? After you press Feature *3 or after you press Feature *3, the button and enter 64x?

If you are getting the error after pressing just feature *3 then one of two problems, 1) Someone else is in programming or, 2) Set is locked in programming.

If you are getting the error after dialing 64x, then the problem is the system doesn't recognize the 'x' as a proper line pool code.

As for the set not having access to the line pool, this wouldn't matter as you're programming a button. If the button was programmed for a line pool that the set doesn't have access to, then you would get the "Denied in Admin" error when using the button.

Same system, same problem different day

Programmed new 7208 exts in T&S user preferences\buttom programming\button 1

f64 it took it and asked for line pool accerss code put in the one I confirmed in Sys programming access codes Line Pool A...9 was the number there.

updated them and went ot sets to test "DENIED IN ADMIN" again. Not only the programmed button, but i can't get a line on the intercom button..."DENIED IN ADMIN

Just to refresh:

Assign Lines to Pool A under LINES
Assign 9 as the Access Code for Pool A under ACCESS CODES
Give the set Access to Pool A under TERMS&SETS
Assign F649

If does not work try Intercom 9 and report
