That is a HUGE question.<br>

What are you trying to do? It's not so tough to run an AVI file, just call the Multimedia Control Interface API. Same thing with a .WAV file -- you just point the MCI stuff at your external file. Look in the MSDN Platform SDK for the calls to make.<br>

My advice would be to go to one of the online bookstores (like one of this site's sponsors -- and buy 3 or 4 books on the subject just to get a feel for it.<br>
<br>
Depending on what you're trying to do, have you considered writing a Macromedia Flash, and running it inside a browser? It might be easier, plus you can say you're "internet ready".<br>
