programming Hot Keys on M3904 sets

I'm a telecom technician and administator. I was wondering if I can get some assistance on how to enable hot keys on my option 11 c system, also ho do I go about programming a hot key and also how to put some ones name on a 3904 display for the respective Hot Key?

This is how it is done!

To change the label of the key on the 3904, go to options, change feature key label, then change the number to the label you need.

If you make it HOT D 4 XXXX , WOULD GO TO A 4 Digit dn , just like Eddie's 10 to a 10 digit number, the D - will look starting at key 0 for a CLID entry and use the one it finds.

hey thanks alot Eddie and Big Indian, I tried that in LD 20 but the only difference was that it was an I2004 phone and this is the error that I got;

You are missing a space between the 4 and 5.

Hey, is there a feature that I need to turn on first or a cls of service to program a hot key on my option 11c, cause I keep getting this error. I've tried 4 like you see, 7 and 10.

Guys I really appreciate it, I got it to work, the only problem now is that the key is now saying Hotline, and I want it to say the persons name. Which LD do I go into to add the name so that it displays on the phone display instead of hotline?

You do that on the set if it is a 3904. Not sure how you go about it on an i2004?

Same I believe Eddie, goto options, find relabel feature key.

Do you mean the person being called see's HOTLINE on there display instead of the name of the person calling?




This is an Analogy so don't take it personally as some have.

Why change the engine if all you need is to change the spark plugs.

Well actually yeah, the name of the person being called, because if you have more than one HOT key you dont want to call the wrong person if all of them say HOTLINE. I corrected that by changing the feature key label option through the options button on the 3904 and through the services button on the i2004 model.
