We need to make some programming changes but we no longer have access to administration via terminal so we now have to use the phone. Nobody that is here was around when the system was installed so we don't know which station is the admin extension. We tried extension 100 but we never see system programming. The phone we are using is an MLX 28D, I don't know if this matters? I have been told to try and plug the phone directly into the first and fifth port on the first station card to see if those are the admin station ports. Is there anything else we can check?

Thanks in advance,
FIL

You have to use a 20L to program with via telephone set.

As far as I am aware, system programming requires either an MLX-20L or 4424LD+ phone. An MLX 28D doesn't have the large screen you need. Also, about the port, you need to be using a phone that is connected to any of the ports between 1 and 5.

Do you have a copy of WINSPM? If so you can install that on a computer with a modem and dial in. Basically you would just tell the modem to dial your company's main number. When the phone rings, pick it up and transfer the call to *10 (that transfers the call to the built in modem). If you don't have WINSPM, I belvie you can download it from the Avaya site. I think its version 5 on their site that is a complete version.

Without any of the above, someone would have to "dial-in" to make the changes.

AND, if someone did "DIAL IN", they could tell you what the Admin port is.
