I have a site which originally had local support for the phone system, but the company is no longer supporting it. I was able to update station names on each phone and build voicemailboxes via the legacy PC which runs the VMAIL client. This client handles incoming calls and directs calls to one of our extensions. My concern is station maintenance as it looks like we're going to be stuck on this phone system a little longer. I need to be able to understand and pass on to this remote site on how to program new phones, modify phones or delete phones.

My understanding is that the programming is done on the phone itself and not directly in the system, like Avaya, NEC or Panasonic. I'm looking at manual etc. still, but if anyone has any information or guidance, I'd be all ears.

Thanks,

L

Update: It looks like I need VMMI, at first I thought it was only for DXP Plus. I found a few versions of VMMI and I have it running on a Windows XP VMplayer. It looks like I can do a TCIP/IP setup, if I can purchase a serial to ethernet adapter. Any thoughts on this, or is there easier ways with just programming on the phone itself? Thanks.

So, I've figured it all out, but it looks like now this DSP has system version 195.

Hoosier Equipment Brokers Inc. hebusa.com has all the files you need. You can contact them at 800-408-0059 and they will provide the username/pw for their Manuals and Software page.

FYI: The manuals say the RS-232 port 1 and port 2 have different COM port settings, but I've found that ours did not, so if neither the default or the 300 7 2 none doesn't work, use something to sniff what it's looking for.
