I had thought there was a thread on programming a BCM from a handset. I understand that there is some F code to do this with caveats, but nonetheless I was wondering if anyone knew what it was. While I accept that this is not the preferred or recommended route, there are times when no IP connection is available and it sure might be handy to be able to change a name or add a line pool to a station. Is this open for discussion or considered taboo in this forum?

Not taboo, but you can only do a few commands and some revert back to what they were if the system reboots and sometime it causes a reboot.

Don't even try it. It DOES cause problems. Good news though, I just got out of a class on the BCM50 and with it Nortel is bringing it back. Feature 983 stuff as well as set based programming.
