I can't set Outlook Express as my default email setting. When I look at the settings on IE 6, under "Tools" then "Internet Options" it's a blank, and I can't enter it anywhere. Any ideas ? Operating system is XP Home edition.

Do you have admin rights as the user you are logged on? It might be that you don't have enough rights to change it.

Try upgrading to IE6 with service pack 1 if you already have that install it on top and then re-apply all the patches, usually re-installing IE6 fixes the problem and reverts everything back to default.

Have you installed another email program? As default email program is outlook express for windows xp systems. If you have installed another email program it might good to uninstall it as well if you don't plan to use it.

You could also try Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Set Program Access and Defaults.

You can specify your default email application there.

Try this:

Start, Run, "C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe" /reg, OK
