using the panasonic software to program kxtd and it locks up on a xp machine . still works fine on my old win 95 laptop

is there a known problem with this software and xp ?

aare you talking about the stock panasonic stuff blue dos or windows or the russian stuff?

i use both windows and doss ver with win xp pro without problems but you could try using the compatibalty mode in your accessories directory

Same here with the DOS version. Never had a problem with it on mine or any of my other techs, but another dealer had a problem and compatibalty mode fixed it for him.

no its the stock pansaonic blue dos , as I say works fine on my old win 95 laptop but when I loaded a copy for the customer on his dell xp pro laptop it would work for a while then lock up .

stick my old compaq on and program just fine .(same cable )

so it sounds like its a bad install maybe ?

Ill try that and the compaibly mode.

thanks

gotta say i mis my old 286 never booted into windows
had 2 batch files on it for quick changes pc for procomm
and td for the blue screen!

ever use one of the old compaqs that looked like a portable sewing machine ?

the keybord snapped on the bottom then you set it on its side and you had a 5" crt and two 5 1?4 floppy drives .

biggest drawback is it was a huge footprint for a phone room I remeber being on my hands and knees crouched over trying to see the screen :)

thing is once you fired it up and connected you could do everything just as fast as you could today with a p4 . dumb terminal is dumb terminal the switch is controlling the data

I had a couple of them I think they where the first product Compaq made they didnt have a model number just said compaq

i had one like you desribe but it was a panasonic product

Is SP2 installed on this PC? If so try installing on a PC with XP without SP2.
