Hi All,
your assistance please.

I have network engineers creating a .doc using MS Word 2k.
This doc is uploaded to a portal. (Win2k)
My objective is to programatically convert this doc to a pdf and have the pdf displayed for download.
My question is, "How do you convert the doc to a pdf without opening MS Word and printing it to a pdf file?

Thanks in advance

You can use Words Object Model in VB or whatever language you want to invisibly open the doucument and print it file in PS format, then Adobe Distiller will do the rest.

If you don't have distiller but do have PDF writer you can do the same thing, but I have an older version of PDF writer (version 3) that requires you to manually enter a filename which stinks. As I understand it that had been fixed in more current versions.

Using the Word Object Model, how do you process the pdf without having the system stop and wait for a file name?
