Is it possible to use a formula to set the value of axis labels in a chart? I have two values I am charting, the current year and the previous year. Ideally I would like to have something like CYTD 2006 and CYTD 2005 where 2006 is the current year and 2006 is the previous year. And when the current changes to 2007 have the axis labels be CYTD 2007 and CYTD 2006.

If you really mean for them both to say "CYTD" then use a formula:

"CYTD " + totext(year({table.date}),0,"")

...as your "on change of" field.

It's the legend value I am trying to set. The values I am trying to change are the values that are in the Show Values area of the Chart Expert not in the On Change area.

Are you saying you have conditional formulas by year for your summaries? It would probably help if you specifically identified how you have the chart set up and included the content of any formulas.

In general, the legend is, as far as I know, not something you can change except by a workaround where you use a text box to cover the existing text.
