I have searched far and wide for some sort of documentation on how long a MICS (assuming the batteries in the cartridge and on the backplane are relatively new) can retain it's programming without power. Does anybody know for a fact? Or have a document which states the answer to this? I'd appreciate any feedback and/or documentation you could send me.

Thanks

The installer guide says that if powered down for more than 72 hours you would need to re-enter any key codes. So I would assume if the codes are lost then so would the programming. I've never really tested it though.

Thanks, I did see that but I guess was hoping for something that actually stated how long the telephony programming would be retained. Appreciate the reply... and I do agree that 72 hours is probably the max for both.

plug it back in and see if the date defaults back or not. I have seen the MICS keep programming for a year and the next one lost it in a month.

Along with what jerry is saying then theoretically if nothing drains the cap that holds power to the chips then it would hold forever. But you know how that goes.

I think the duration of hold time is inversly square to the importance of the data

We usually tell the customer 3 days on a new system, too, but 'ya never know.

Experience has led me to agree with jerry. If I have to move a system 3 blocks away, and I don't quote labor to reprogram, it'll lose it.
