Program NEC NEAX PBX program DTMF tones

Is it possible to program an NEX NEAX PBX (or phone switch) to pass DID or DTMF tones via a T1 tie trunk to a fax server? Currently have
NEC NEAX 2000 IPS telephone system
Voicemail server is a NEAXMail AD-64 with voice/unified messaging system

Try seting the exensions as VMS Stations in Cmd 1310 as that will tell them to forward information using in band signalling!
