I am managing a Magix system miles away.

I want to program Remote Forward on a number of extensions.
Let's say, extension 1339 (with an access code of 1339).

Now, I know that I can get to 1339 via Feature 80 from another phone set located on site. ...from the other phone set, the key sequence would be #80 1339# *339{phone#}#... that works.

My question is, can I do that same thing remotely... not on site... either with WINSPM, Remote Access, or by some other means?

Thanks,

CCB

Set up a line or a DID for remote access, with a barrier code, then call it, dial the barrier code, dial *33, dial the extension you want to forward, dial the destination number.

Wow!!! That worked.

Tell me this.

The extension is 2701.

Why is it that when I dial this extention from inside the bank, it correctly executes the remote transfer... but, if I hit *T (*8) from Merlin Mail, it does not execute the transfer?

Any ideas?

The voice mail ports are automatically restricted when they are added to the voice mail calling group.

You need to set each voice mail ports ARS level to 3, Unrestrict them, give them permission for Trunk to Trunk transfer, and Remote Call Forward.

And of course, Ext. 2701 needs to have a mailbox created in the system, or at least a Class of Service of 20 (Transfer Only Permissions) or the Merlin Mail won't let you transfer to it.

Ok....

I am using Merlin Mail R3.
I have successfully tested dialing 2701 from a local ext and it dials my cell phone (a remote #)

How do I follow your instructions to get a Mail transfer to work properly?

My mail ports are: 7119, 7121, 7123

Here is my current config (hoping I did it like you specified):

Under Extensions" is SPM:
Unrestricted: 2701, 7119,7121,7123
ARS Restrct (3): 2701, 7119,7121,7123
Remote Frwd: 2701, 7119,7121,7123
Trk Transfer: 2701, 7119,7121,7123

So... I am dialing the system via Remote Access.
When I enter my Barrier Code, I dial 770 for the VM group.
I then press *T and enter 2701. The system just dials and dials.

Then, again going through remote access, I entered 2701 to dial the ext rather than 770 for the VM group.

It that point, my VM picks up.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

CCB

Check if your lines are set for "Loop Start Reliable Disconnect" - Lines and Trunks, TT/LS Disconnect, LS Disconnect, Yes, Enter

YEA!!!!

That did it!!!

U da man!!

....so, what was that last thing you had me do?

It worked. I changed it from No to Yes.

What does that do?

The last thing he had you do was to bypass reading the documentation. Reliable disconnect has to be on for trunk to trunk transfer. Its in the book.

In situations where a call rings in on a standard Loop Start POTs line and the originating party hangs up while listening to the greeting, the Reliable Disconnect will release the port/line so the Operator and the operator's voicemail don't get slammed with dead air calls or LEC recordings telling you to either hang up or call the operator to help you.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.
