Program error

Crystal 9 Vis Fox Pro 5 application running reports from inside the application.
This application had been running Crystal 6 reports satisfactorily and we have now upgraded to
Crystal reports 9 and have problems.

If i create basic report looking at Branch.Branchid, Branch.Branchname
Save report without saving data it displays all the information correctly.
When I create a new report looking at People.peopleid, People.surname I get an error

Program Error
OLE error code 0x80020006:Unknown name

I have looked at the data in this table and there seems to be nothing untoward.

Any help as to what this error refers to would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry I forgot to mention that these erors do not occur when I run these reports outside the application i.e. via an ODBC connection
