Program cannot read com port.

Hi,

I have a new Win 2000 PC which I'm trying to install a Clipper program (self-written) into. This program is attached to a Zebra barcode printer using Com1. However, when I run the program, it says the port isn't ready. I tested the port using hyperterminal and it works but not through the program. I tested the program on Win95 and it works in MS-Dos Mode but Win 2000 does not have Dos-mode. Win2000 safe mode with Command Prompt does not have printer and com.

Anyone have any idea for me to run the program with both com and lpt working?
