We have a 800 number that rings to one of our direct lines in our office. Sometimes the person calling needs to speak to a different CSR in another location. Is it possible to program a button so the person answering the phone can transfer the call to an outsider number? So it would be something like transfer + 'press button' + transfer and the call gets routed to the number associated with the button pressed. Thanks!

You will need to enable that extension for trunk-to-trunk transfer if it is not already done. You could in theory then program a button with the 9 + number and utilize that button as you suggest. To test if trunk-to-trunk is enabled, call into the line and press transfer + 9 + a test number and see if it lets you complete the transfer. If so, then you are good to go.

If you have analog trunks, you're going to lose some db in volume. Inbound mobile phone calls transferred remotely will experience the loss most and may find the call quality unacceptable. This isn't a problem with T1 or PRI trunks.
