Profiles Over a wan using server 2000 with 2000 clients

We have just upgraded are system from a nt lan to a 2000 wan we have four dc's two in our manchester office one in our liverpool office and one in stoke office.Three of the servers have dns setup on them. dc01 is our main active directory site we have set up all our users on dc01 so it can replicate down to the other dc's on the network. the problem we are having is droping peoples profiles down from manchester to stoke or liverpool. I know profiles cannot go directly over a wan. We have people who go from branch to branch and at the momment we are coping over there profiles from manchester, and droping them on to the dc at the branch they are at, then we are changing the user information within active diretory to point them at there other profile which works but when they come back to manchester we have to change it back. What im after is a solution to profile not working over a wan. If there is anyone out that can help i will be most grateful
