Currently we have a small Windows 2000 Domain using roaming profiles. All users are on XP machines.

In order for users to get access to a network shared program I created a shortcut on each machine's c:\Documents And Settings\All Users\Desktop (folder). This allowed any user that logged on to the machine to access the network program. This worked.

I attempted to create some html links in the favorites folders of all machines c:\Documents And Settings\All Users\Favorites (folder). These shortcuts do not appear under favorites in IE.

Any Ideas?

You might try putting the Favorites in the Default User folder instead of All Users. My understanding is that XP uses the Default User rather than All User. Worth a try.

I have attempted to place it in the all users and default users folders on both the Workstation and Server with no luck on either.

Thanks

Now, that I think of it I think the favorites may be very specific to each user. I have a similar situation with the home page. I need to set the home page differently for different series of machines. I tried doing this using an admin account I set up to configure the desktop. (I configure this account exactly the way I want it to look for all users.) Then I log back in as Administrator and copy this profile to Default User. However, when I log in as a regular user the home page is not set where I want it. I have to manually set it, then go back into Group Policy and change the setting so they cannot change their home page. My guess is that for each user that logs into the machine, XP creates a blank Favorites directory instead of using the one in Default User.
