I need to map drive letters to roaming users. These drive letters will vary depending on user. Unfortunately, we are not using NT in a Domain. Just as a standalone server in a peer to peer network. (No PDC/BDC's on network) Clients are various versions of Win95 and Win98. Can it be done?

The simplest suggestion I would make would be to map the same drive from every machine to the server. In this drive, you could then put a different script for each user. Then it would just be a matter of educating your users to go run this script everytime they logon.

Is there a specific reason why you can't use the NT box as a PDC? It would make this problem simple.

I agree that if this box was a PDC/BDC, life would be simpler. Unfortunately, to make this server a PDC, I believe I would have to reinstall NT. Not possible now.

Or, you can upgrade to Win2000 which allows you to promote/demote at will.
