It has been reported by numerous users that their profile path H:\ does not map correctly intermittently.

The path in the user profile is set to \\server\staff\username

They report that the drive maps to \\server\staff

Logoff/logon fixes it sometimes but not always.

Any ideas why?

Sorry, should've used the correct terminology....

This is the Home Folder not the Profile Path.

In ADUC on the Profile tab I Connect H: to \\server\staff\%username%

I have just found a possible cause/solution and applied a new GPO that applies a computer setting to 'Wait for network on startup'. The only downfall may be that it slows the logon process so I've only applied it to one computer. If this resolves it I'll post but I'd be interested to get others views if this isn't the issue.

That setting for "wait for the network" should do the trick. also, remember to edit your GPO's for faster processing by disabling the unused portions; either User configuration or computer configuration
