I've searched but can't find a solution to my .profile not being sourced at login. The server is AIX running 5.3 and I'm accessing CDE through WinAxe. The DTSOURCEFILE is set to true in my .dtprofile, and the .dt/startlog shows that the .profile is being sourced. Sourcing the .profile manually is successful with no errors and also OK through SSHing to this server. What have I missed?

Where is it appearing not to be sourced, when you open an xterm? If so, that is normal, because .profile is only sourced when opening a login session, which an xterm, by default, is not. You can force it to behave as such by using xterm -ls.

If you want some commands to be run each time you launch your shell, they belong in the appropriate .shellrc file.
