I have been having issues with roaming and local profiles in Citrix.

I have been on the phone with fellow Citrix gurus and they are stumped.

For some reason when I rename a profile and log into Citrix as that user, the profile does not recreate. I have performed many steps to resolve this but to no success.

I have even tried to remove the profile from the servers directly however I get an error "Profile not deleted completely. Error - The system cannot find the file Specified.

Please help if you can - thanks

MSR63,
I would suggest (if you don't have it installed already) you install the Microsoft UPHClean utility on your Citrix server.
Once that's installed....reboot your Citrix server and then clean out your roaming/local profiles (DO NOT DELETE "All USERS" profile.

Try and log into the Citrix server once your roaming/local profiles have been deleted. This should create you a new one.

Also...I've seen in the past that if you have MOVED the "All Users" profile and then put it back to Documents and Settings folder....it throws up error messages when creating a new profile.

I'm not sure if you have moved that profile to another location and then moved it back....just another thought.

Hope that helps.

LOL - that is the tool that made my issue worse.

Actually it is a great tool - but my mistake is that I had roaming profile issues in the first place and my users could at least log in with their local Citrix server profile, I ran that tool and it cleared out their local. Believe me it's something that needed to me done - and I had hoped it would resolve my profile issues

I have an annoying work around.I disable roaming profile for each specific user (at least 35-40)
Have them log into the farm – a new local profile is created, have them log out.
Copy the contents of their profile from the shared profile folder into their Citrix local profile.
Have the users log back in.

All this until I figure out why roaming profile is not loading as it should.

at login roaming profiles get cached locally onto the Citrix server. Are there any funnies with your profile folder, share permissions etc.? are they mandatory? I presume you have the profile path specified under Terminal Services profile in AD Users and Computers for each user? Are there event log errors on the Citrix servers?

I checked and rechecked the share permissions, users AD accounts have TSprofile settings
The event log displays:
>event ID 1521 for roaming,
>Printer ID 1107 b/c roaming is not working
>UPHClean ID 1401 -- regarding roaming also
>Symantec ID 45

I inherited this network - and it seem to be running fairly ok until about 2 weeks ago however there was no updates or work performed to cause this
