How to delete useless files in XP user profile? I got around 1G large in \documents and settings. More than 600M is in \documents and settings\personal. However, I can't see anything inside that folder. My computer is running slower and slower. Wonder is the user profile growth too large so that want to do housekeeping. Please help.

you need to view all hidden files.

open explorer / tools / folder options / view tab

under hidden files and folders, select "show hidden files and folder"

then uncheck "hide protected operating system files"

click ok

go back to then profile in doc's and settings and there should be a whole new sets of folders showing.

be careful to only delete files and not folders, as problems will occur with that users logon if you delete the wrong things.
