I have a work order that is for 25 pieces. 5 out of the 25 pieces have been reported. When I print out a Production Shortage Report, it shows that I have Order Qty of 25 and all the parts that are short also have a qty of 25. I know that is not correct, because 5 have already been reported. Plus I am not short as many parts that the reports says with the last 20 to be made. Thanks in advance

ES or Progression, POP or ShopFloor control ?
Having asked, I remember once upon a time, when you released the order, a shortage was generated, which is not what you have not reported, it was the negative avalible at the time of release. Once you release the order, the shortage table was never updated again. My guess is that this not the case anymore.
Looking forward to hearing other reponses.

7.6.400 so it is progression. The production shortage report is a POP report (it is called material shortage in SFC). So this is a Progression POP item, correct me if I am wrong.

In some brief testing, I both received a PO and reported production in an attempt to change the shortages on the report (the data is in the IMSHTFIL_SQL table) and neither transaction had an effect. It kind of makes me wonder what the heck good this report is.

In SFC there is a fill shortage process, it appears any similar functionality in POP is not present. If anyone has any otherr insights is will be appreciated.

ah,
Dgilz, the old IMSHTFIL, I remember wondering was the SHT for shortage or something else. I beleive the shortage table is populated at the time of release of the POP order.
I think I modified the crystal version of the report and linked it back to the IMINVLOC and hide the shortage if the available qty > shortage qty. I was surprised there is no fill shortage functionality.
Will continue to monitor as of interest. I functionally same effect in ES and Progression.
