Product Launch Dates

I need to add the Launch Date of each product in my sales analysis mdl. I can create a master table with products and the minofinvdate where sales are >0 and insert it as a new data source. but if i do this, not all products in the first(main) datesource will be in my second data source (because in my first data source, i have products that never sold and promotional products as well). this is causing my other "products" dimenstion levels to be unbalanced and the cube will not build. any suggestions on the best way to analyze the sales of products from their original launch date (date of first actual sale). any help is greatly appreciated. the simpler the better...

Fyi, I already have a monster time dimension for straight sales.
