Product key wasn't requested on upgrade 1

I'm new to this, so please bear with me. I've searched this forum and haven't found anything like this.

I did an upgrade from W2k3 to W2k8 this weekend on 1 server. I was never asked for a license key. Could someone point me to where I can enter the product key (CAL)? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Right click 'computer' - Windows activation is at the bottom of the window that opens. Then there is an option to change product key.. Click that and enter your key.
