I heard that there is a way to back up my "key" in case I were to reformat my system and reinstall my copy of office 2003. Does anyone know how the activation works and if you can actually back up the key? I hate to be out $500 if I have to reformat and reinstall. Thanks in advance.

If you need to reformat and reinstall you will have no problem reactivating your software with Micosoft as it records details of the PC when you activate. It would be a problem if you tried to install the software on another PC, other than a portable
