We have recently purchases Timesheet Professional and the reports it offers are of no use to us. Can we develop our own report templates via "Crystal Reports", if so do we need specialised information from Professional e.g. Schemas,API's etc...

Cheers.

What type of database do they store the data in? If it is ODBC compliant, or if you they use something like ACCESS or Dbase you can link to it.

Data structure documentation will speed you up. Ken Hamady

We have re-keyed all timesheets into T.P.

How would we go about getting the Data Structure documentation.

I know Crystal Reports can be used to produce custom reports which can be incoroprated within Timesheet Pro, but as I am unfamiliar with this product I am uncertain of the level of detail or the flexibility with which it can be used in conjunction with the keyed data.

What I really need to get is some detailed literature which can explain this in greater detail(or to be pointed in the direction to get this info) and also a sample of some custom reports which have been generated from Timesheet Pro using Crystal Reports.

Cheers.

The following link explains that they use an open database structure that is ODBC Compliant.

The current version also comes with a Crystal Reports option and a bunch of standard Crystal Reports. Do you have these? These will teach you about how the database is structured.

See if their help file or their users guide includes a data dictionary, which explains which tables contain which data elements. If you can't find it, contact them and aks for a data dictionary document to use for reporting. Ken Hamady
