Recently, the company I work for has discovered, some of the tenants in buildings which we own are using our network to gain Internet access. This is expressly prohibited by the rental agreement.
I have been tasked with improving network security so these individuals cannot gain access to the network.
One of the solutions I am considering is using the HP switches, which are already in place, and only allowing certain MAC addresses to connect. The problem I have run into is that it appears MAC addresses must be assigned to specific ports. If this is the case, I am hesitant to pursue this avenue since we have several traveling users, with laptops, which connect wirelessly, to the network using non-HP access point.
Am I on the right track, or, is there a better way to address this issue? The switches are running the F.05.17 firmware.
Thanks in advance for all your help.
