I'm using Procomm to administer an Octel voicemail, but most of the time I will use it my computer will tie up printer. Since, procomm will start printing the screen without me doing anything. I already checked the print capture to make sure it's not on.

Are you asking a question? If so could you be a little clearer in what your asking.

I am using Procomm Plus to access the Octel's programming. For some reason everytime I use the program it will aumatically print whatever I have showing on the screen. I deinstalled and reinstalled Procomm Plus already but it didn't help. There's something wrong with my settings but I can't figure it out. I'm using the same Procomm to direct connect with the switch and I have no problem. Only if I use it to access the Octel vmail.

I know this not a Meridian question but maybe someone had experienced this problem before.

Thanks.

I have something similar with MeridianMail... I also use Procomm. Example, if at the screen, an error append from the Mail, automatically the printer connected to my PC print this error. Then I realize that the mail was configure to print error at the same port that I use to connect. I changed the configuration to resolve the problem. I don't know the Octel system, but may be you can find something about printer configuration!

Good luck.

Not a problem. There's an option in TERMINAL SETTINGS that says ENABLE HOST PRINTING. Shut it off.

On Mer Mail, the system is sending error info to the printer. On the Octel, every screen refresh is being sent to the printer.

This will correct the issue.

Hope this helps (If so, please give me a star).

Kris.

Is that option from the Procomm Plus or Octel terminal? I can't find that option anywhere.

I'll give it a try. I hope this will fix because it's getting really annoying. I'll let you know.

Go to options, data options, terminal options, then check disable host printing.

Its on PROCOM. Go to the OPTIONS menu and select DATA OPTIONS. That menu should pop up another menu. Select TERMINAL OPTIONS. There's a checkmark at the bottom right of the window that just popped up. It says DISABLE HOST PRINTING. Make sure the checkmark is on.

That should do it...

Hey Kris,
this is an interesting thread, because I'm experiencing a similiar problem. I'm using Hyperterminal (I know, don't laugh), but whenever I connect to any of my remote site, my printer is automatically activated and starts printing blank pages.

If you check the print ques, you'll see a gazillion print cues... any ideas here?

Thanks
Jeanette

Under the TRANSFER menu, make sure CAPTURE TO PRINTER isn't checked. Aside from that, I don't see anything in there. However, HyperTerminal may not be sophisticated enough to block that type of print.

Notice how in Procomm it says DISABLE HOST PRINTING (not ENABLE). I'm thinking a terminal normally emulates a terminal w/ printer. So, HT may not be capable of blocking this.
