Hello,

I'm using Procomm 4.8 on Windows 2000 with a Multitech 19.2 ZDX modems. I have the idle disconnect setting set to 30 minutes, but it drops if I'm idle for about 5 minutes. Using this to dial mostly Avaya/Lucent PBXs.

Any ideas? the PC is a Dell P4 1.4Ghz

Hello,

Are you Dialing the System Using a Script or is this a Manual Connection ?

Hank

I would see if you can reproduce the problem with Hyperterminal. Procomm does not have any idle timeouts on calls (although your modem or the remote system may).

Thanks for the replys. I'm just dialing from the directory I'm not using any scripts. I set the idle setting by going into the port settings of the directory entry then going into the modem properites.

I will try the Hyperterminal test.

Looks like I was a bit incorrect in my earlier statements when I said Procomm didn't offer a timeout setting. I thought that the setting you mentioned above was a global setting on the system (Procomm is really just displaying the Windows' modem properties dialog at that point), but it looks like the Connection Directory does store that value entry-by-entry instead.
