I'd like to connect to a remote site with Procomm: however I currently have to use another application (simpterm) as the remote connection requires an rlogin session.

Does anyone know if I can configure Procomm to connect as if it were running rlogin?

Cheers,

PS. Procomm Ver 4.8

Procomm does not support rlogin, but it does support telnet if the system you are connecting to supports that connection type.

It does...though I dont have control over it...office politics...I'll soldier on with simpterm for this one site and wonderful Procomm for the rest...

Thanks for the clarification.

3 options:

1. Do nothing. Gain nothing

2. Use procomm to control simpterm using sendkey, sendkeystr.

3. Sell your idea on the benefits of writing Procomm scripts which will save time/money.

Go for option 3. If you have a manager who believes in you and you believe the script will work, you build credibility and promotability. I deal with office politics all the time and it seems to work for me.

Good points: We seem to have discovered a "lever" so will hopefuly be bringing these maveriks into the fold....I think the powers going to my head!
