Procomm Account Code Insertion Into Dial String

Our group has just been inflicted with forced account codes on outbound calls. Each call must now be prepended with *58 plus the seven digit work order number being worked on. Because all our dialing directories are built, I need a script or even phone card modified to dial *58, await the manually entered seven digit code, then continue to dial as normal using the dialing directory entry.

Any thoughts? I've looked for a dial, wait, accept entry, dial routine, but I can't seem to prepend manually. Thanks!

I'll have to play with this a bit at home, but I don't think there's a good automated (which I presume is what you are looking for) solution. This is due to Procomm being somewhat disconnected from the underlying TAPI framework in Windows that handles all the modem operations. If you select the Options | System Options | Dialing Options menu item in Procomm and choose the Dialing Properties button and then the Edit button (also accessible somewhere through the Control Panel as well), you can make manual changes here that I think will work for you, but not in an automated way.

Yup, that's kind of what I was thinking. I was hoping there was a little known variable tucked away that would output the *58 (easy enough) wait for 7 digits to be manually entered into the dial string (toouugh), then continue dialing the directory entry per standard rules. I figured there might be a way to modify a calling card or some such, I'll stand by while the experts mull it over.

Thanks for considering my issue!

The only way I could think of (off hand) is a script that loops through your connection directory (fetch dialentry phonenumber), populates a form, and when you select an entry builds a string containing *58, prompts you to enter the work order number, then populates the phone number.

Then use connectmanual with the newly created string as the outgoing number?
