I want to filter certain outgoing messages to certain folders. Procmail has many options for processing and filtering incoming messages, but with procmail can you move a message to a certain folder when you send it out? FYI, I'm running a QMAIL server and sending email with PINE.

Thanks,

Hey bitwise,

Maybe you already figured this out.

It its address-book, PINE has an option for each address there called "Fcc" for Folder Carbon Copy. By populating this field, you can set a specific folder for each individual or address in your address book.

There is also a configuration option in PINE, "FCC-Name-Rule". The default rule is to save all outgoing messages to 'sent-mail' (or whatever your default-fcc variable is set to). But there are about 4 other rules you can use for a default situation.

The "Fcc" field in the address-book overrides any defaults in the PINE configuration area.

If storing outgoing mail by the recipient name or nickname is too simplistic, you may try sending a CC: to yourself, and letting procmail process the mail that comes back in.

Hope this helped. -David
