I have installed red hat 7.1 as DNS and mail server (postfix and bind) for our client last 6 month it works very well.

now they call about their mail server out of service

when anyone send mail to the server a replay from the server say this :

<test2@Mailserver.com>: can't create user output file. Command output: procmail:
Couldn't create "/var/spool/mail/test2" procmail: Lock failure on
"/var/spool/mail/test2.lock" procmail: Error while writing to
"/var/spool/mail/test2"

what is this ?
i have verified the permission of /var & /var/spool & /var/spool/mail with a good server (redhat+postfix) in all is ok ????

i need advice !

The lock file gets created when a program writes to a file so 2 programs can't write at the same time. This could cause problems if it happened. For some reason the lock file didn't get deleted after the file was written to last time. You can delete the lock file if you see it.
