I am trying to load a converted file from the flash card in a new REL 4 processor. The system tells me to "change system program port to extension" I am using winSpm through the admin port. I have been told to "Reinitialize the new prcessor first and Merlin Man was the man to ask how. Please help...

Your converted translations have the programming phone on a port other than the 1st (it can be on any port from #01 through #05)

You must change that on the processor you're trying to restore the file into, before the file will go.

If you still have the old processor available, with the old translations loaded, look to see what it is so you will know what to change it to. Otherwise, you will need to change it one port at a time until the restore is happy.

Situation; I ordered a 4.0 processor with flash card to replace a 2.2 processor. I successfully backed up the system to a laptop and then converted the backup to 4.0. I installed the new processor with the new flash card and loaded the converted backup. WinSpm stated it would take 45 mins to load. It took about 15 mins, and then stated restore complete. The switch rebooted and came back up with only one issue. The switch has the default database and there is no programming???? I have made no switch changes and only done what was stated above. I was told there was a way to initialize the processor card in case our first attempt to restore from a flash card caused an issue with the processor. PLEASE HELP!!!

The "KEY ONLY" switches may be set on the processor, thus not allowing any "NON-KEY" programing.

Look at the 2 white switches near the edge connector and compare your old processor with your new one.
